We are a bioinformatics research group based in the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego and affiliated with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. We are also a member of the university-wide Bioinformatics and Systems Biology graduate program.
Research in the group is focused on development of computational methods and tools for variant calling in human genomes using high-throughput DNA sequencing technologies. We are also interested in using DNA sequencing technologies and computational methods to identify disease-associated variants. The group has developed state-of-the-art tools for haplotype phasing from whole-genome sequencing and variant calling using long-read sequencing technologies.
